Women’s Cost-of-Living Hub will be similar to Stop 1- a central place for resources to navigate all these issues basically.
-Expand free menstrual products so dispensers contain a meaningful variety of pad and tampon sizes, rather than a one-size-fits-all model.
+ Start a volunteering programme to ensure the period products or STOCKED at any given point in time.
-Partner with Welfare and Legal to run women-focused tenancy and renting sessions, including rental discrimination, bonds, unsafe housing and leaving difficult living situations.  
-Create an opt-in
Women’s Housing Network where students looking for female housemates can safely connect, without the Women’s Department attempting to act as a landlord or guarantee accommodation.


Women's Cost of Living Hub

Bringing together improved access to better quality period products, food relief, emergency financial assistance, tenancy support and other existing UMSU/University services in one easy-to-navigate resource.

Replace the idea of a single “Employability Week” with a semester-long Women at Work program. Partner with women-focused faculty and course clubs across UniMelb to run industry panels, mentoring, networking and skills sessions relevant to different degrees. Introduce workshops on salary negotiation, workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, reporting misconduct, managing inappropriate workplace behaviour and knowing your workplace rights. Create professional mentoring opportunities connecting students with women alumni and industry professionals. Continue subsidised qualifications such as First Aid/RSA where demand exists, but complement them with skills relevant to graduate employment.

Women's Employability Program

Build an employability program that helps women enter industries, progress within them and deal with gendered workplace issues.

Together will establish a recurring Women’s Health Series across the year rather than isolated workshops. Potential topics include menstrual health, endometriosis, PCOS, contraception, sexual and reproductive health, cervical screening, eating disorders/body image and mental health. Bring clinicians, researchers and community organisations onto campus rather than relying only on student-led information sessions. Develop a central directory explaining where students can access relevant services, including low-cost options. This way students get practical health literacy and know where to go next.

Women's Health Support

Give women students reliable health information and clearer pathways to appropriate services.

Together will:
          
-Develop a clearly accessible Women’s Safety Guide covering what to do after harassment, stalking, sexual violence, drink spiking or other threatening behaviour, alongside reporting and support pathways. 
-Run practical education on coercive control, stalking behaviours, digital safety, consent, bystander intervention and recognising escalating behaviour. 
-Conduct regular campus safety walks/audits with students, particularly around evening transport routes, lighting and isolated areas, and publicly advocate to the University on identified problems. Continue optional self-defence programs, but make them one part of a much broader safety strategy.

Move the Women’s Department from primarily reactive support toward prevention, preparedness and institutional advocacy.
