$50 Cost of Living Voucher

As an emergency cost-of-living measure, we will ensure that every student gets a $50 food voucher to help them get through the semester.

Why this matters

Students are struggling to make ends meet, and the cost of living is rising. Many students are going without food, and this is unacceptable. We will ensure that every student gets a $50 food voucher to help them get through the semester.

How we implement it

Monash did it - why can't Unimelb? Together will make sure it happens here. Like Monash, the Uni will pay for the vouchers for all students. Every student will automatically receive their voucher via email. They can spend them on any retailer on the campuses. It will cost the university ~ three million dollars, which is small considering the uni has an annual revenue of over 3.7 billion! At Monash, every student received a $50 prepaid gift card, which was emailed to all students at Australian campuses. The card was able to be used at participating on-campus retailers to help with everyday costs such as food and essentials on campus.
