Extended Library Hours
Keep libraries open longer during exam periods.
The university has concerns about making Libraries 24/7 all the time due to additional security costs mainly - and yet there is a clear claim from students that they want this. So far, the union has been successful in getting extended library hours during examination periods. Making this official and pushing for it would be ideal.
Why this matters
One of the perks of Melbourne University are its study facilities - students have many different timetables and being able to stay at libraries in a way that suits their study style helps push students for better grades. It also increases time spent on campus.
How we implement it
We will advocate for the University to extend library hours at Baillieu, Giblin Eunson, ERC, Law, Southbank to 2-3am between week 12 and end of exams
