ADHD and ASD diagnosis at uni
Pathways to ASD and ADHD diagnosis through UniMelb Health-Service
Currently, neurodiverse students can face significant financial barriers that make getting crucial support for ADHD and ASD inaccessible. This can lead to students struggling due to factors outside of their control.
Why this matters
Courses are structured in a way that makes it hard for neurodiverse students to participate without the right support. If too many students fly under the radar due to financial barriers, the course structure will be actively discriminating against them.
How we implement it
Together will: Fund a pilot program where the disability office funds a floating psychiatrist to assist with diagnosis for a select group of eligible students. Leverage positive student incomes (higher student retention + participation) in order to get the University to support a larger scale project.
